01. Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
I love me some strawberry yogurt cheerios, but they make my fingers all sticky, so they don't work too well. Just whatever we have around the house.
02. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
I have never written in a book, except for my grammar book in English, in which I wrote favorite quotes and lyrics for the next person to find and read out of boredom over parsing sentences.
03. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
I dog-ear, mark it with the Book Tree bookmark if I get it from there because each book comes with one already inside, just memorize the page number, or figure it out when I get back to it.
04. Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Fiction most of the time, rarely nonfiction if it's really fascinating.
05. Hard copy or audio books?
Hard copy. I can't remember things I hear very well, so if I try to listen to an audio book, I forget what just happened after the sentence is over. However, I do love Neil Gaiman's reading voice.
06. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
Depends. If I am hurrying off, I can put it down wherever, but if I'm stopping of my own accord I wait til the end of a chapter or the end of a segment.
07. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Write it down to look it up later? Just try to infer what it means from the rest of the sentence, and keep going?
That's pretty rare. I generally just use context clues, and have always, which has resulted in some incorrect meanings in my head.
08. What are you currently reading?
American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn
09. What is the last book you bought?
American Gods, Ishmael, and a vegetarian international cookbook.
10. Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can read more than one at a time?
I kind of have to read more than one at a time. I get bored otherwise.
11. Do you like re-reading books?
It has to be a few years at least before I can reread something. Unless it's a short story; I can read those over and over.
